We're excited to announce the launch of Grafito's IoT-Controlled Humidifier (Mist Generator) — a smart, 4-channel mist control system purpose-built for nurseries, greenhouses, hydroponics, and indoor growing environments. It combines precision environmental sensing, remote mobile control, and automated scheduling — all in one compact board.

The Grafito IoT controller board supports up to 4 independent mist generator channels with onboard sensor interfaces for comprehensive environmental monitoring. View on the shop.

Built for Nurseries and Controlled Environments

Maintaining consistent humidity is one of the most critical factors in nursery success — whether for seedling propagation (80–95% RH), mushroom cultivation, orchid houses, or fogponics systems. Too little humidity stresses plants, while too much encourages mold. Our IoT humidifier solves this by giving you sensor-driven, automated control over your microclimate.

Integrated Environmental Sensors

The system is available in three variants, each adding more sensing capability:

VariantSensors IncludedPrice
Controller OnlyMist generator drive only₹4,999
CO₂, Temperature & HumiditySCD40 CO₂ + temp + humidity₹7,999
CO₂, Temperature, Humidity & LuxSCD40 + VEML7700 lux meter₹8,999

The top variant measures temperature, humidity, CO₂ concentration, and ambient light (lux) — everything you need for data-driven nursery and greenhouse management.

Key Features

  • 4 independent mist generator channels — Zone your nursery or greenhouse with per-channel frequency tuning for maximum mist output.
  • SCD40 sensor support — Real-time CO₂, temperature, and humidity monitoring for automated mist control loops.
  • VEML7700 lux meter — Light sensing for indoor grow and nursery applications, enabling light-aware mist scheduling.
  • Mobile app connectivity — View real-time sensor data and control mist outputs from anywhere in the world using the free companion application.
  • Data export — Download historical sensor and device data for analysis and record-keeping.
  • Timer-based scheduling — Set precise on/off schedules for fully automated operation.
  • 5V fan attachment — Sync an external fan with misting cycles for active humidity distribution.
  • WS2812B LED support — Visual status indication of system state.
  • USB-C and barrel jack power inputs — Flexible power options for any setup.

How It Works

At the heart of the system is an ESP32-C3 controller driving up to 4 piezo mist generator channels through individual LC resonant tank circuits. Each channel uses a UCC27517 gate driver and 680 µH inductor to achieve the high peak voltages (60–90 Vp-p) needed for optimal mist output. The result is dense, consistent cool mist — with no heat or noisy fans.

The real magic is in the MQTT-based IoT control. Sensors stream environmental data to the cloud, the mobile app displays it in real time, and the system can automatically trigger misting based on configurable thresholds for humidity, temperature, or CO₂.

What's Missing in the Market Today

Before building the IoT-Controlled Humidifier, we spent months talking to nursery operators, greenhouse owners, and hydroponic growers across India. The picture that emerged was consistent: most humidification solutions on the market simply aren't designed for Indian nurseries.

❌ Cost: Beyond Reach for Small Nurseries

Industrial-grade humidity control systems from established brands start at ₹25,000–₹50,000 or more — completely out of budget for small nurseries and individual growers. Cheaper options exist, but they are single-channel units with zero intelligence, serving as little more than on/off foggers.

❌ No Integrated Sensors

Most commercial humidifiers have no built-in sensor integration. To measure actual humidity levels, you need to purchase and install separate industrial-grade sensors, controllers, and wiring — adding thousands more to the setup cost and requiring specialised installation.

❌ No Scheduling or Mobile Connectivity

Nearly every humidifier available today works the same way — you turn a dial or press a button, and it runs until you remember to turn it off. There is no timer, no scheduler, and no mobile app. If humidity drops at 2 AM, nobody gets notified. If it overshoots, mould sets in before you notice.

❌ Imported with No Local Support

The vast majority of mist generators and humidifiers sold in India are imported from China and other markets. That means:

  • No warranty honoured locally
  • No service network — if something breaks, you're on your own
  • No technical support in your language or timezone
  • Complicated returns — shipping back overseas is often impractical

Why This Matters for Nurseries

Nursery operators face a constant challenge: maintaining precise humidity across different zones without constant manual intervention. Grafito's IoT humidifier addresses this with:

  • Zoned control — Run multiple mist channels at different intensities in different areas.
  • 24/7 automation — Scheduling and sensor triggers eliminate the need for round-the-clock manual monitoring.
  • Remote visibility — Check sensor readings and adjust settings from your phone, whether you're on-site or away.
  • Data-driven decisions — Export logs to understand how your environment changes over time and optimize growing conditions.
